FORT MCKAY FIRST NATION COMMUNITY NOTICE

May 7th, 2016 @ 9:30AM

Immediate Smoke Threat: Heavy Smoke

Wind is blowing the smoke from fires

No Immediate Fire Threat: 180,000 hectares

There is no immediate fire threat to the Fort McKay community.

Elders and Children: Medically Ordered to Leave: 10PM Friday Night

A medical evacuation ordered at 9PM, Friday evening. Buses were brought
in to escort the elderly, children and their families to Northlands Expo in
Edmonton, AB. The bus officially left Fort McKay at 8AM Saturday
morning.

Council & Band Administration: Coordinating Community Safety
Council and Band Administration are meeting regularly. They are in regular
contact with Emergency Response Organizations and Industry Partners.

MEETING TODAY: 4PM @ Band Hall

Council and Band Administration will update entire community on air
quality (smoke) status.

The Community of Fort McKay is NOT under evacuation order as of
9:30AM Saturday morning.

If this changes, it will be announced at 4PM Community Meeting being
held at the Band Hall.
