The Health & Seniors Services Department of Fort McKay First Nation manages a full spectrum of programs and services supporting community members’ health and well-being. This includes healthcare including Primary, Public and Preventative, Mental Health, Addiction Services, Child and Family Services, and Eldercare.

Health Centre

The Health Centre’s mission is to optimize the well-being of the Fort McKay community. It manages all aspects of health, including health assessment, prevention, and maintenance.

Services currently available at the Health Centre are primary care (e.g., family physician), public health (e.g., immunizations, vaccinations, STI screening, baby check-ups), prenatal and well-woman visits, mental health therapist, physiotherapy, geriatric/palliative care specialist services, lab testing (e.g., blood work), telehealth consults, Community health representation and easy access to pharmacy services

The Health Centre is working toward providing dentist hygiene services soon.

Elders Centre

Elders are intricately vital to the spiritual and cultural health of Fort McKay residents. The Elders Centre provides a space for Elders to meet, socialize, and to celebrate special events. Lunch is provided for Elders at the Centre twice a week.
